0x's next-gen pricing engine is now live

Built for serious onchain apps, 0x v2 offers the most seamless swap experience at the best all-in prices.

News

As Web3 continues to evolve, projects are growing into more serious businesses, requiring swaps that fit into their business holistically, from security and reliability to monetization and compliance.

In July, we introduced our next-gen pricing engine in beta to meet the needs of serious onchain apps. Redesigned from the ground up, 0x v2 offers the most seamless swap product for developers with optimal trade execution, powerful monetization controls, and enhanced security baked in at the ground level.

Over $1B in volume has already been routed through 0x v2 via our beta partners, including Matcha, DODO, Definitive, Abracadabra, Furucomobo, Notional, Ramses, Oku, Kinto, and Ethos.

Today, we’re excited to announce the official launch of 0x v2 with support for three new chains (Linea, Scroll, and Blast) and all-new features, including state-of-the-art buy/sell tax support, regulatory compliance built-in, and native smart wallet support.

Now that’s serious.

0x v2 is available now to all integrators:

  • Live on Linea, Scroll, Blast + 7 other chains: Tap into 7M+ tokens with unrivaled liquidity from 140+ AMMs across 10 chains - all with a single API.
  • State-of-the-art Buy/Sell Tax support: Real-time buy/sell tax detection and intelligent trade routing for the most reliable onchain execution in DeFi, minimizing error rates and enhancing the swap experience for your users.
  • Regulatory compliance built-in: Built-in address screening effectively detects and blocks addresses connected to illicit activity.
  • Advanced routing at the best all-in prices: 0x v2 was built to optimize for execution quality - identifying the route expected to yield the best all-in price. v2 outperforms the competition at every trade size.
  • Secure by design: v2’s all-new set of smart contracts take security to the next level, fully eliminating allowance risk and baking in protection at the ground level by leveraging Permit2.
  • Powerful monetization controls: Take control of your balance sheet and say goodbye to dust sweeping at the end of each month. v2 saves you time and money on your journey towards building a sustainable Web3 business.

Now live on Linea, Scroll, and Blast

0x v2 is now live on Linea, Scroll, and Blast, expanding coverage to 10 chains in total, including Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Binance Smart Chain, and Polygon. And more are on the way!

We’ve also enabled v2’s completely revamped RFQ system on Ethereum, Base, and Arbitrum, unlocking exclusive CEX-like liquidity from sophisticated market makers and opening up slippage-free trade routes for optimal trade execution.

With the widest swap coverage in the space, 0x v2 enables you to tap into 7M+ tokens with unrivaled liquidity from 140+ AMMs across 10 chains - at the best all-in prices in DeFi.

Regulatory compliance built-in with Address Screening

A downside of DeFi’s permissionless nature is that any entity can use decentralized platforms for trading funds from illicit activities, such as money laundering and terrorist financing. According to Elliptic, over $7 billion in illicit funds have been laundered through decentralized exchanges.

For growing Web3 businesses, this presents a very real regulatory risk. Teams face legal and compliance liability for the trades executed on their platforms, including regulatory scrutiny, steep fines, or even criminal charges for facilitating trades from illicit entities.

0x v2 now features multi-layer Address Screening built-in, safeguarding you from bad actors and minimizing compliance risk.

Multi-layer screening: v2 utilizes multi-layer screening via Chainalysis and our own internal blocklist to effectively detect and block addresses connected to illicit activity, ensuring that all addresses interacting with your application are screened for ties to terrorist funding, sancions, hacks, money laundering, and more.

Seamless protection: No engineering required. 0x APIs provide seamless protection with Address Screening automatically built-in for all integrators.

Zero-cost compliance: Access to screening APIs can be a significant expense, up to thousands of dollars a month, for Web3 applications. 0x offers protection at no additional cost.

We believe this added layer of security is a crucial step forward, enabling you to continue to serve your users permissionlessly while deterring bad actors from your platform. Rest easy knowing 0x has your back.

State-of-the-art Buy/Sell Tax support

The rise of memecoins has led to an explosion of tokens with a buy or sell tax, also known as fee-on-transfer tokens (FoT), with ~25% of DEX users now trading these tokens on Ethereum.

Buy/sell taxes throw a wrench into well built swap products, leading to not only high error and revert rates, causing headaches for developers, but also inaccurate quotes, leading to poor user experiences. They are the #1 cause of custom token related errors and revert rates for trades that include tokens with buy/sell taxes on top aggregators can reach as high as 30%.

Until now, there hasn’t been a reliable way to get accurate, real-time information needed to properly support buy/sell taxes, leaving apps to rely on hacky workarounds, such as dynamically adjusting slippage tolerance, that don’t always work.

0x v2 solves this problem with real-time buy/sell tax detection and intelligent trade routing for the most reliable onchain execution in DeFi, minimizing error rates and enhancing the swap experience for your users. 0x v2 also enables you to accurately surface the precise tax for a given trade to your users.

And that's not all...

  • Smart Contract Wallet Support: Native support for Smart Contract Wallets in v2’s Permit2 flow.
  • Enhanced error validation: Quotes that just work. No more onchain reverts due to quotes that can’t be validated and less dev time devoted to figuring out how to estimate gas when users don’t have a balance or allowance set.
  • Swap Typescript SDK: Designed to make it easier than ever for you to integrate with 0x API v2, our new SDK provides seamless access to the "Swap" and "Gasless" endpoints, offering a robust, type-safe client built on tRPC. Whether you're working with Node.js, Next.js, or React Query, the SDK simplifies interactions with the API, ensuring streamlined development and improved error handling.

Important Notice: We will be deprecating v1 on December 18, 2024.
