Gift cards are a trillion dollar market, but that market is heavily controlled by traditional payment card providers like Visa and Mastercard. At the same time, stablecoins present one of the strongest use cases in Web3 and have grown rapidly with billions of dollars worth being issued around the world.

The state of wallet UX today means any crypto gift needs to include a cryptography degree if you want the recipient to use it. Right now, you have to hope they’re able to figure out not only how to use it, but also how not to lose it - “Merry Christmas, DYOR”.

Initially launched in November 2024, the Burner team knew that the only way to design the simple, intuitive end-to-end experience they envisioned was to build a native swap function. Without this, not only would navigating to external dapps and DExs add additional steps to the user journey but it would also reintroduce the unfamiliar concepts the Burner team handles for the user. 

However, just as users face complexity in using wallets so too do Web3 businesses looking to access liquidity across an ever fragmented DEX landscape.

Burner needed a DEX aggregator to integrate powerful swaps with deep liquidity across Ethereum and Base, while minimizing engineering time so that the team could focus on building their core product for launch.
